Overview
Otolaryngologists, or ENTs (Ear, Nose, and Throat), are doctors who deal with issues of the head, neck, and throat. They treat a wide variety of issues in children and adults. Whether it’s sleep apnea, tonsils, allergies, or something more concerning, the otolaryngologist is the specialist to deal with it. In fact, it’s estimated that around half of patients that go to see their primary care doctor have some kind of ENT issue.
Some doctors sub-specialize in the areas of Neurotology and Otology, which is dedicated to treating hearing loss, ear infections, and tumors involving the ear and skull.
Additionally, Otolaryngologists are all trained in facial plastic surgery. A number of our Proliance ENT surgeons are double board certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery along with Otolaryngology. These double board certified surgeons provide a full array of facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries along with ENT surgery.
Proliance Surgeons has an ENT to help you with whatever your concern. Check out some of our areas of expertise below:
Facial and Reconstructive Surgery
Cosmetic procedures aimed to enhance the appearance of facial structures and features. The surgeries range from face lifts and rhinoplasty (nose surgery) to scar revision and otoplasty (ear surgery).
Sleep Medicine
Examination of the nose and throat with endoscopy, and possible imaging tests to determine the potential sites for obstruction. Treatments can often include a CPAP device, tonsil and/or palate surgery, nasal surgery, and possibly Inspire implant surgery, among other personally tailored surgical suggestions.
Head and neck surgery
A surgical specialty that focuses on the treatment of infectious diseases, trauma, and cancer in the head and neck. Common surgeries can include addressing cancers of the mouth and throat, thyroid gland, and salivary glands.
Pediatric Issues of all Types
Disorders that afflict children and teenagers that range from tonsil and adenoid enlargement to feeding and swallowing difficulty, as well as ear infections and speech delay.
